Lung cancer rehab study aims to pinpoint what really matters for patients

NCT ID NCT07434947

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will enroll 63 people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer whose disease has been stable for at least 6 months. Participants will take part in a 3-month rehabilitation program that includes physical activity. Researchers will measure quality of life, hand grip strength, and a sit-to-stand test to see which outcomes best capture the benefits of rehab. The goal is to identify the most useful measures for future studies comparing different rehabilitation approaches.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

rehabilitation program (physical activity)

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could identify the best way to measure whether rehabilitation helps people with advanced lung cancer feel stronger and have a better quality of life.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study (63 participants) that is not yet recruiting. It is designed to find the right measurement tools, not to prove that rehabilitation works, so results may not lead to immediate changes in care.
