First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests an experimental drug called REGN10597, alone or with another drug (cemiplimab), in people with advanced solid tumors like melanoma and kidney cancer. The goal is to see if the treatment is safe and can shrink tumors. About 240 participants will receive the drug in different doses to find the best balance of safety and effectiveness.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- REGN10597 (a fusion protein that targets PD-1 and IL-2 receptors) and cemiplimab (an immunotherapy drug)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to a new treatment option for people with advanced solid tumors like melanoma and kidney cancer that have stopped responding to standard therapies.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-phase trial (Phase 1/2a) with a small number of participants, so the drug may not prove effective or safe enough for wider use. Side effects from the immune system are possible.
