First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding foot reflexology to standard physical therapy can reduce pain and improve sleep in women with fibromyalgia. Sixty women aged 18–65 will receive either standard therapy alone or standard therapy plus foot reflexology twice a week for six weeks. Researchers will measure pain sensitivity, sleep quality, and overall symptom impact before and after treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- foot reflexology
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to help manage fibromyalgia pain and sleep problems.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 women in Egypt, so results may not apply broadly. Reflexology is added to standard care, so any extra benefit may be modest.
