New study aims to curb Post-Surgery opioid overprescribing

Summary
This study tests whether a training program helps surgeons and hospital staff reduce the number of opioid painkillers they prescribe after surgery. About 40 healthcare workers and patient representatives from hospitals in North Carolina will take part. The goal is to see if the program is practical and effective in cutting down unnecessary opioid use while still managing pain.
