New drug cocktail aims to shrink rectal tumors before surgery

Summary
This study tests whether adding immunotherapy drugs (cemiplimab alone or with fianlimab or REGN7075) to standard chemotherapy (CAPOX) can eliminate or shrink rectal cancer before surgery. About 66 adults with a specific type of rectal cancer (MSS, locally advanced) who have not had prior treatment will receive the drug combination, then undergo surgery. The main goal is to see how many patients have no cancer cells left in the removed tissue.
