Rectal cancer leftovers: snip or skip? new trial weighs options.

NCT ID NCT07192627

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at people with locally advanced rectal cancer who have small leftover spots in the rectum after chemoradiation. Doctors want to see if removing these spots with a scope (endoscopic resection) leads to better 1-year cancer control than simply watching them closely. Twenty adults will be followed to compare disease-free survival and organ preservation rates.
