New hope for PAH hearts: drug may ease strain on right ventricle

NCT ID NCT06658522

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 26, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests a drug called sotatercept in 20 adults with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a disease that strains the right side of the heart. Unlike standard treatments that only widen blood vessels, sotatercept targets the root cause by helping reverse blood vessel thickening. Researchers will measure heart function using scans and catheterization before and after 24 weeks of treatment.
