Heat treatment for uterine condition tested in small study
NCT ID NCT05130190
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at how radiofrequency ablation (using heat) affects adenomyosis, a condition where uterine tissue grows into the muscle wall. Fifteen women scheduled for hysterectomy received the ablation first, then their removed tissue was examined under a microscope. The goal was to see how much of the abnormal tissue was destroyed, not to treat symptoms or cure the condition.
