Zapping resistant spots: radiation may buy more time for lung cancer patients on targeted drugs

Summary

This study tests whether precisely targeted radiation (SBRT) can stop or slow the growth of a few resistant spots in metastatic lung cancer patients who are already on targeted therapy (TKI). About 60 adults with EGFR or ALK mutations will receive radiation to those spots, and doctors will monitor how long the cancer stays controlled. The goal is to delay the need for switching to a new drug, potentially extending the benefit of the current treatment.
