First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tested whether radiofrequency microneedling (RFMN) can safely treat melasma, a condition causing dark patches on the face, in people with darker skin (Fitzpatrick types IV-VI). Ten adults completed the treatment, and researchers measured changes in melasma severity using a standard scoring system. The goal was to see if RFMN offers an effective option for this hard-to-treat skin condition.
