New risk score could predict survival in lung disease patients

NCT ID NCT07151768

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study is testing whether a new risk score called PVD-B65 can accurately predict who will survive for one year after being diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension related to chronic lung disease. Researchers will follow 100 adults and track deaths and other health changes. The score uses information from standard tests, so no extra procedures are needed.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this risk score could help doctors better identify patients who need more aggressive monitoring or treatment.

What could go wrong

This is an early observational study with only 100 participants. The score may not work as well in a broader group, and it does not test any new treatment.
