First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a group therapy called Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) helps reduce PTSD symptoms and rule-breaking in incarcerated men and women. About 900 participants from six prisons will join, each for up to 24 weeks. The therapy helps people change unhelpful beliefs tied to trauma. Researchers will track conduct reports and PTSD symptom scores before, after, and three months later.
