Summary

This study tests whether combining two types of therapy—cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for PTSD and relapse prevention (RP) for alcohol use—works better than relapse prevention alone. Researchers will enroll 200 adults with both PTSD and alcohol use disorder to see if the combined approach reduces drinking and PTSD symptoms more effectively. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments and monitored over time.
