First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested whether a daily supplement made from a mushroom extract (called PsP) could reduce markers of cell damage and inflammation in 200 adults who smoke or are around smoke. Participants took either the supplement or a placebo for 8 weeks, and researchers measured changes in their blood. The goal was to see if the supplement could help the body handle the stress caused by cigarette smoke.
