Summary
This study tested whether a daily supplement made from a mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) could lower markers of cell damage and inflammation in 200 adults who smoke or are around smoke. Participants took either the supplement or a placebo for 8 weeks. The goal was to see if the supplement could help the body handle some of the stress caused by smoking.
