NCT ID NCT06355414

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a single high dose of psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) can help people with both chronic low back pain and depression. About 40 adults will receive either psilocybin or a control drug, and researchers will track changes in mood, pain, and thinking patterns over one month. The goal is to see if psilocybin improves positive emotions and reduces negative thoughts about pain.
