Blood plasma boost for laser acne scar treatment?
NCT ID NCT07352215
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your own blood to fractional CO2 laser therapy helps improve moderate-to-severe acne scars better than laser alone. Seventy adults aged 18-40 will receive three treatments, four weeks apart. The main goal is to see if scars look better, with less redness and swelling.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) applied topically after fractional CO2 laser treatment
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a better way to reduce acne scars with fewer side effects than laser alone.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 70 people. PRP may not add significant benefit, and results may not apply to all skin types.
