Summary

This study is for people with breast or non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to the fluid-filled space around the brain and spinal cord. It compares two types of radiation therapy to see which one helps patients live longer. One method targets only the specific areas causing symptoms, while the newer proton method aims to treat the entire central nervous system space to better control the spread.
