First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a tailored program of protein supplements and exercise can increase muscle protein production in people with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) who are not yet on dialysis. Researchers compared 40 participants (patients with CKD and healthy controls) to see if lifestyle changes could help preserve muscle function before dialysis becomes necessary. The goal is to find ways to maintain independence and quality of life in CKD patients.
