New study tracks brain and energy side effects of prostate cancer meds

NCT ID NCT07181122

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study follows 102 men with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer who are taking standard drugs (abiraterone, apalutamide, enzalutamide, or darolutamide) plus hormone therapy. Researchers will check thinking skills, fatigue, mood, and sleep at the start, 3 months, and 6 months using simple questionnaires. The goal is to see how these treatments affect daily life and mental function in the real world.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Androgen receptor pathway inhibitors (abiraterone, apalutamide, enzalutamide, darolutamide)
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help doctors understand how these drugs affect thinking, energy, and mood, leading to better support for patients.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It only measures outcomes without testing a new therapy, so it won't directly improve treatment.
