New imaging methods may spot recurrent prostate cancer more accurately
NCT ID NCT01857037
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested two imaging techniques—Histoscanning™ and multiparametric MRI—to see how well they can find prostate cancer that comes back after radiation therapy. Thirty men with signs of recurrence had both scans, followed by targeted and random biopsies to check accuracy. The goal was to see if these scans could replace or reduce the need for standard biopsies.
