Radiation implant showdown: which works better for prostate cancer?

NCT ID NCT02960087

First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study compares two types of brachytherapy (radiation placed directly into the prostate) for men with localized prostate cancer. One type uses a high dose of radiation given in two sessions, the other uses low-dose radioactive seeds left in place. The goal is to see how well each controls cancer and what side effects occur. About 334 men are taking part, and researchers will check PSA levels after 48 months to measure success.
