Could a simple calculator replace unnecessary prostate biopsies?
NCT ID NCT07422597
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares two ways to check men with high PSA levels for dangerous prostate cancer: giving everyone an MRI first, or using a risk calculator to decide who needs an MRI and biopsy. The goal is to see if the calculator method catches just as many serious cancers while reducing unnecessary biopsies, MRIs, and anxiety. About 1,000 men with suspected prostate cancer will take part.
