First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 30, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looked at whether progressive relaxation exercises—a method of tensing and relaxing muscles—could help first-year nursing students feel less stressed and more resilient before starting clinical practice. Eighty students took part, with half doing eight relaxation sessions over four weeks. The results showed that those who practiced relaxation reported lower stress and a greater sense of meaning in life compared to those who did not.
