First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether taking probiotics alongside standard anemia medication (erythropoietin) can improve red blood cell levels in people with chronic kidney disease on dialysis. About 80 adults will receive either erythropoietin alone or erythropoietin plus a daily probiotic for 3 months. The goal is to see if probiotics help the body respond better to anemia treatment and reduce the need for high medication doses.
