Your own blood may help your gums heal faster after a tooth pull
NCT ID NCT07595198
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) – a natural substance made from your own blood – to a bone graft helps the extraction site heal faster and grow more bone. Fourteen adults needing two tooth extractions will receive PRF plus bone graft in one socket and standard bone graft with a collagen membrane in the other. The study lasts about 4 months and compares gum closure, pain, bone changes, and new bone growth between the two treatments.

- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could lead to faster healing and better bone growth after tooth extraction, reducing the need for additional procedures before dental implants.
