This study tested whether two different drugs placed inside the breathing tube could prevent sore throat after long spine surgery. Four adults took part, and researchers compared the effects of dexmedetomidine versus alkalinized lidocaine. The goal was to find a better way to reduce throat pain, hoarseness, and coughing after surgery.
