First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a smaller breathing tube during thyroid surgery can lower the chance of a sore throat afterward. 180 women having thyroid surgery will be randomly assigned to receive a tube with an inner diameter of 6.0, 6.5, or 7.0 millimeters. Researchers will check how many women have a sore throat at 1, 6, 24, and 48 hours after surgery.
