Smart insoles aim to stop diabetic foot ulcers before they start

NCT ID NCT05950659

First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether special smart insoles can help prevent foot ulcers from coming back in people with diabetes and nerve damage. The insoles measure pressure and temperature on the feet and alert the user to problem areas. 400 high-risk participants will be followed to see if the insoles, used alongside standard care, reduce ulcer recurrence compared to standard care alone.
