NCT ID NCT07576543

First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving older adults (65-90) a combination of two medicines (dexmedetomidine and esketamine) along with a gentle brain stimulation technique (tDCS) during and after surgery can prevent long-term memory and thinking problems. The researchers will follow 1160 participants for 3 months to see if these treatments help protect cognitive function. The goal is to find a way to reduce the risk of confusion and mental decline that can happen after major surgery.
