Wearable sensor could take the guesswork out of leg ulcer treatment

NCT ID NCT07152717

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a wearable device called Tight Alright that measures pressure under compression bandages for venous leg ulcers. Standard compression therapy is effective but hard to get right without feedback. The device sends pressure data to a phone app, helping clinicians and patients apply and maintain the right pressure. The trial will compare wound healing in 40 people who use the device versus those who don't.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Tight Alright wearable pressure sensor device

What this could lead to

If it works, this could make compression therapy more consistent and effective, potentially speeding up healing of venous leg ulcers.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The device may not significantly improve healing rates or patient adherence.
