Artery-Saving technique may lower leak risk in colon cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07098182
First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looks at whether preserving the left colic artery during surgery for colorectal or ovarian cancer can improve blood supply to the remaining colon. About 50 adults will have their colon blood flow measured with and without clamping that artery. The goal is to see if this technique can reduce the risk of dangerous leaks where the colon is reconnected.
