First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looked at 128 adults having gallbladder surgery to see if giving pure oxygen before anesthesia (instead of mask ventilation) reduces stomach bloating. The goal was to see if this method lowers the need for a tube to deflate the stomach and reduces sore throat afterward. The study was observational and did not test a new treatment.
