Simple anesthesia change could make gallbladder surgery more comfortable

NCT ID NCT07274488

Summary

This study tested whether giving patients extra oxygen before anesthesia (preoxygenation) instead of using a mask to help them breathe reduces stomach bloating during laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. Researchers compared 128 patients to see if this method lowered the need for a stomach tube and reduced post-surgery sore throat. The goal was to find a safer, more comfortable approach for this common procedure.
