Can Pre-Surgery training improve recovery in gynecologic cancer?
NCT ID NCT07608445
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This pilot study tests whether a physiatry-led prehabilitation program—including exercise, nutrition, and mind-body practices—can help women with advanced gynecologic cancer stay stronger before surgery. Twenty-five participants will follow the program during their neoadjuvant treatment. The main goal is to see if it's feasible, not yet to prove it works.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
prehabilitation program (education, goal setting, rehabilitation, supportive care)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that starting physical and mental support before treatment helps patients recover better after surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a very small pilot study (25 people) testing feasibility, not effectiveness. It may not show clear benefits or be too demanding for patients.
