New pill tested to fight depression in people with HIV

NCT ID NCT05570812

Summary

This study is testing if a pill called pregnenolone can help reduce depression in people living with HIV. About 120 participants will take either pregnenolone or a placebo (sugar pill) for 8 weeks while staying on their current depression medications. Researchers will use brain scans and blood tests to see if the treatment improves brain activity and reduces inflammation linked to depression.
