Eye ultrasound shows promise in measuring brain pressure during surgery

NCT ID NCT07630753

First seen Jun 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single dose of pregabalin, a drug already used for pain and anxiety, can safely lower pressure inside the skull during brain tumor removal. One hundred adults having elective brain surgery will receive either pregabalin or a placebo before the operation. Researchers will use a simple, painless eye ultrasound to measure pressure changes, aiming to find a non-invasive way to improve recovery.
