First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study aims to find out what factors help predict a successful outcome after a type of prostate surgery called HoLEP, which treats an enlarged prostate. Researchers will follow 604 men aged 40 and older who are scheduled for HoLEP. They will measure success based on symptom relief, no urinary incontinence, and no serious complications three months after surgery.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help surgeons identify which patients are most likely to have a smooth recovery and good results after HoLEP surgery.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It won't test a new drug or procedure, so it won't directly lead to a cure or new therapy.
