Breathing test before surgery may predict oxygen drops during lung operation
NCT ID NCT07494006
First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study involves 44 adults having lung surgery who will receive one-lung ventilation (only one lung breathing during the operation). Researchers will measure how air moves through the lungs before surgery and then track the lowest oxygen level during the procedure. The goal is to see if the pre-surgery breathing pattern can help predict which patients are at risk for dangerously low oxygen levels, allowing doctors to prepare better.
