Heart ultrasound may predict Post-Surgery rhythm problems

NCT ID NCT07388108

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special heart ultrasound done before cardiovascular surgery can help predict if a patient will develop atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) after the operation. Researchers will follow 138 adults who are in normal rhythm before surgery and check for arrhythmias during their hospital stay and up to a year later. The goal is to improve early detection and prevention of post-surgery heart rhythm complications.
