First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether measuring rifampin levels in urine can help doctors adjust doses for people with active tuberculosis (TB). The goal is to ensure each patient gets the right amount of medicine to kill the bacteria effectively. About 200 adults and children with drug-sensitive TB in Tanzania will take part. If successful, this simple urine test could replace expensive blood tests and improve treatment success.
