First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested whether taking pravastatin, a cholesterol-lowering drug, early in pregnancy could prevent preeclampsia in women at high risk. Preeclampsia is a serious condition involving high blood pressure that can harm both mother and baby. The trial aimed to enroll 1,550 women but was terminated early with only 102 participants, so results are limited.
