First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tested whether pramipexole, a drug used for Parkinson's disease, can help people with depression who also have anhedonia—a loss of interest or pleasure in things they used to enjoy. 85 adults with depression and significant anhedonia took either pramipexole or a placebo alongside their usual antidepressant. The goal was to see if the drug could improve anhedonia symptoms and help doctors personalize depression treatment.
