Ultrasound-Guided diuretic dosing may improve heart failure hospital outcomes

NCT ID NCT07469722

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether using a special ultrasound score (DUCS) to guide diuretic dosing can improve outcomes for people hospitalized with acute heart failure. About 128 adults with heart failure and fluid buildup will be randomly assigned to either standard care or ultrasound-guided treatment. The goal is to see if the ultrasound approach reduces deaths, shortens hospital stays, and clears fluid more effectively.
