First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at how certain gene variations (PNPLA3) are linked to fatty liver disease (MASLD) in people from Guadeloupe, French Guiana, and Réunion Island. Researchers will collect blood samples from 600 adults to find out which gene versions are most common and how they relate to disease severity. The goal is to better understand why some people develop more serious liver problems.
