First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether plasma exchange (a blood-filtering treatment) helps people with multiple sclerosis who have severe relapses that do not get better with steroids. 38 adults took part and were randomly assigned to receive either real plasma exchanges or a sham (fake) procedure. The main goal was to see if the treatment improved disability after one month.
