Can swapping meat for plants tame diabetes?
NCT ID NCT05706155
Summary
This study is testing whether a diet that replaces some animal protein (like meat and dairy) with plant protein (like beans and nuts) can help people with type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugar levels better than a standard diabetes diet. About 146 overweight or obese adults with type 2 diabetes will follow one of these two calorie-controlled diets for 24 weeks while keeping their usual physical activity. Researchers will measure changes in blood sugar, weight, and other health markers to see which diet is more effective.
