Placenta cell shot for diabetic foot ulcers: trial pulled before start

NCT ID NCT02460081

First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study aimed to see if injections of cells from human placenta could improve blood flow and help heal foot ulcers in people with diabetes and narrowed leg arteries. About 24 adults with hard-to-heal ulcers were planned to receive either the cell injections or a placebo. The trial was withdrawn before enrolling anyone, so no results are available.
