One-and-Done heart fix may slash stroke risk and bleeding
NCT ID NCT06212674
First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether doing two heart procedures at once—fixing faulty electrical signals and closing a small heart pouch—can prevent strokes better than standard blood thinners or closing the pouch alone. About 240 people who recently had a stroke and have atrial fibrillation will take part. The goal is to see if the combined approach reduces strokes and serious bleeding over four years.
