First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looked at whether Pilates exercises can improve core muscle strength, lung function, and overall fitness in healthy older adults aged 60 to 77. Twenty-nine participants were split into three groups: one did Mat Pilates, one walked on a treadmill, and one kept their normal routine. All exercises were done for 60 minutes, three times a week, for 8 weeks. The goal was to find simple ways for seniors to stay independent and feel better day-to-day.
