First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested whether a special physiotherapy program, combining breathing exercises and early movement, could reduce the chance of breathing failure in the week after a breathing tube is removed. It included 245 ICU patients at high risk of breathing problems after tube removal. The goal was to see if this approach works better than standard care.
